EGL Industry Experience
Joel D. Tauber Institute for Global Operations team projects
Students must complete a synthesis project that allows the opportunity to place classroom learning in an applied context. The Tauber Institute offers an opportunity for EGL students to fulfill the synthesis project through a paid summer team internship. The Tauber Institute summer project enables teams of business and engineering students act as a consulting team for a major corporation.
EGL students commonly participate in a Tauber Institute project during the summer after their senior year (before they enter the Masters program).
Upon returning to Michigan, student teams enter a presentation at Spotlight!, where judges from industry evaluate the team's work and award scholarship money to the best projects. A more thorough explanation of the summer team project can be found at http://www.tmi.umich.edu/teamprojects1.htm.
The following timeline will help guide all EGL students towards the successful completion of their Tauber synthesis project.
