Welcome to Engineering Global Leadership!

The mission of the EGL Honor Society is to provide a framework for the personal and professional development of its members - students in the EGL Honors Program, the only honors program in the College of Engineering.

The EGL Honor Society looks to develop and leverage the collective skills of its members in an effort to make a significant contribution to the University and the community. We are social, professional, and global engineers, not to mention champion Angelo's breakfast eaters. EGL Receives Honorable Mention for Outstanding Student Organization

For the third year in a row, EGL has been recognized as an outstanding student organization as part of the Michigan Leadership Awards through the Office of Student Activities and Leadership.

EGL Expands College-Wide

For over 15 years, the Engineering Global Leadership program has provided Industrial and Mechanical Engineering students at the College of Engineering the opportunity to earn a Master's degree while completing Business and Culture Core requirements. However, in 2005, the administration decided to open up this program to students of all CoE departments. Providing a skill set valuable to any student, EGL has already attracted dozens of new students from these departments, and expects this expansion to fuel significant growth in the program.

With the increased diversity of the academic program, the presence of the EGL Honor Society is more important than ever. We exist to provide support, share experiences, and build a community among EGL students. For many, this is an excellent opportunity to get exposure to students, classes, and activities outside of their own departments. And because of this, many students have elected to earn a Master's degree in a different department than their undergraduate degree.

All-Star Season for EGL Sports Watch out Bo Jackson! EGL students have proven themselves on the courts of many of the University's intramural sports. With a strong volleyball performance, runner-up standing in inner-tube water polo, and a broomball championship last year, EGL continues to be one of the University's athletic powerhouses. If you would like to become a part of the EGL dynasty, keep an eye out for team signups. See you on the field!

Cultural Dinners a Culinary Adventure for All One of the best ways to experience the cultures of the world is through each region's unique gastronomy. Fortunately, living in the diverse community of Ann Arbor, students have access to many different types of international cuisine. EGL takes advantage of this by organizing multiple cultural dinners each semester, dining at restaurants such as Champion House, Raja Rani, and Tio's. Check out our upcoming events schedule and be sure to join us for our next outing.

Help us Write More Course ReviewsThanks to our EGL ancestors, we've collected a number of course reviews over the years that have helped many of us figure out which Business and Culture Core classes to take. But as new professors and courses come on the scene, it is important to continue writing these reviews. Click Here to pass the torch and send us your own course reviews. It only takes a few minutes to give future EGL students the gift of good classes.

Northfest 2007 Just like Festifall down on the Central Campus Diag, Northfest is an expo that gives students a chance to check out all of the organizations, project teams, and events happening on the North Campus. Click Here to visit the official Northfest website for more information about the event itself, as well as all of the participating organizations. And of course, if you are able to attend Northfest, be sure to stop by the EGL booth!

Winter Traditions Festival The Winter Traditions Festival is one of North Campus' most exciting and diverse events. During the inaugural program last December, attendees enjoyed international foods, presentations, and demonstrations. This year's event proves to be even bigger and better. If you or your organization would like to get involved, Click Here to contact us and get more information, including event dates and deadlines.

Get Involved in EGL No matter who you are - from a prospective student to the society president - there are always opportunities to get more involved in EGL. Volunteering at events, serving on the executive board and writing newsletter articles are only a few of the ways EGL students contribute to the organization. Your only limit is your passion and imaginzation. Click Here to contact us with your suggestions or ideas.
